Cougar Boots! 2nd Edition!

Hello dear friends!

Long time no blog, lol!

I apologize for being so MIA… I am in the middle of preparing my move… also, a part of me has lost motivation for blogging… but I still love to follow and read othe blogs.  I am sure I will get back into once I have my head cleared and done with the move and the whole transition!!

So, once again, Matchstick contacted me to take part in their cougar boots campaign and I could not say no since I love their boots so much now! It’s my second year doing this and believe me, I truly mean it when I say they make GREAT boots!

This year, I received the Ringer which is a flat winter boot. It had great grip in the sole, I kind of wish I had time to try them out with a little bit of snow but from what I see and my past experience with their boots (last year I got the Regal Rain boots and the Ravishing boots), I have no doubt these will be just as good! However, we had a couple of really cold days here which gave me a chance to try these out and see how warm they are;

In terms of temperature, It is noted on their website that it can withstand from -10°C to  -30 °C and it comes in silver, white and black.

They were extremely comfortable and love their polar plus lining, keeps my toes so warm. The outside of it is made out of  patent on the lower part of the boot and from the angle up it is nylon.  What I love about this is not having to worry about salt stain in the colder months, it will slide right off or nothing that cannot be cleaned with a wet paper towel.

Once again, I am loving my cougar boots and totally recommend them to anyone who is looking for winter boots that are warm, and yet add a little touch of style to your look. Especially in winter… it’s so hard to look cute with all the extra layers we have to wear to keep ourselves warm!

Holiday Scams!!

We are 15 days away from Christmas and I can already feel the rush in the malls... everyone's number one concern is to make sure they get the perfect gift without breaking the bank!

Christmas is undoubtedly the season during which stores make the most profit on their merchandise, however, they have a few technics to help maximize their sales...  Here are a few tips to help YOU save this Christmas, and avoid falling into commercial traps!

  • Extended warranties, make sure it is beneficial for YOU and that it is worth it! Also,  thoroughly look  at the coverage because most often, they have fine prints on what the warranty entails and what not... you don't want to buy an extended warranty and not be able to use it because the coverage didn't include that specific damage... Lastly, make sure the extended warranty doesn't overlap the manufacturer's warranty.. for example: You buy a console for your son and the manufacturer's warranty is 6 months, and you buy an extended warranty of a year... make sure the extended warranty comes into play AFTER the 6 months covered by the manufacturer...or else, you've just wasted half of your extended warranty!
  • Stores tend to stratigically place related items next to each other. While the consumer is shopping, she sees other products related to what he/she is interested in.. and psychologically, thinks it's needed...
  • Have you ever caught yourself grabbing little bits waiting in line to pay? For example, at Winners, they have placed racks of products in the cashier's lines. Thus, while waiting, the customer looks around and is tempted to buy something.  Be aware! think ..do you really need it!?
  • The end of aisle is not always a sale... watch out because you might think the items are on clearance but it's just appearance.. and sometimes, even if it is on sale ask yourself,  is it a good sale?

I hope these few tips help you save some money this holiday!

Do you have any money saving tips when it comes to shopping? Let me know!

Stay Glam,

Naz

Eyelash Extensions Review + GIVEAWAY!- Courtesy of LoveYourLashes.ca

Having beautiful lucious lashes is any girl's dream.... there are different ways to achieve that sexy smoldering look of bold and voluminous lashes. I was contacted by Mike from Loveyourlashes.ca inviting me to try out lash extensions. I was so excited because it was something I was looking into trying so it was perfect to be given the opportunity!

I quickly contacted him back and started speaking to his coworker Katy. She quickly scheduled me to come in.  I must say I am not an eyelash extension professional and this is my honest opinion.

BASIC INFO
There are different types of eye lash extensions; Single strand extensions, Mink single eyelashes and Semi single eyelashes. Info on each type can be found on their website http://www.loveyourlashes.ca/

THE LASH PROCESS
I was asked to lie down on something that looked like a massage bed, with my eyes closed for about an hour. I had gel pads on my eyes to prevent me from unexpectantly opening my eyes and having glue all over! I won't lie, I felt myself falling a sleep a few times, it was THAT relaxing, and I didn't feel a thing!

Usually, many people are a little bit skeptical when it comes to their eyes. I did some research ahead of time to make sure that this process was safe. I mean, I do use falsies for special occassions and I don't discourage my clients when they want some but, this type of process seemed a little scary seeing that the lashes would last up to 3 weeks on my eyes. I wanted to make sure that my natural lashes would not be harmed in any way.

RESULTS!
Before

After

MAINTENANCE AND TIME LIFE

I was told not to use any mascara on my eyelash extensions and trust me, I definitely did not need it! However, I am so used to putting mascara on that in the morning , I had to stop myself every time out of habit! Also, sometimes I would forget and rub my eyes , definitely a no no!

The lashes lasted me about 3 weeks before they eventually all fell off. I was told to NOT pull them off as I will damage my own lashes and that's what I did.

MY OPINION

I really enjoyed them, they felt comforable after about an hour, at first I felt like I had something in my eyes. I wasn't used to having them on. Also, when it came to washing my face, I had to avoid my lashes and  sometimes, I would forget... but all in all, they looked amazing and completely natural!!  I had single lashes put on and I had 70 pieces total which usually cost around $150.  Yes, I admit it is a little pricy and not everyone can afford that kind of price tag on a beauty routine.... however, the refills are only 45$ but don't wait till all your lashes have fallen to go for your refill! Refills should only be done around half of the second week. For weddings and special occasions, I strongly suggest it. Loveyourlashes also offers weddings rates for the bride and her bride maids. The complete list of prices is available on their website.

It was my first time trying eyelash extensions therefore, I didn't have any expectations but everything went great, the place was super clean and katy explained everything as we went along. I highly recomment loveyourlashes for anyone who wants to try out lash extensions!

I was given 2 gift certificates of 50$ to giveaway, Here's how to participate:

Winter is right around the corner!

Winter is fast coming and living in Canada, finding boots that look good and keep warm can , sometimes, become a mission impossible.

I always worry about winter boots making me look bulky due to the fact that I am only 5'1... Aside from that most of the boots I find, either don't withstand the cold , water ( slush or ice melting season) nor ice ...  However, these cougar boots are made from some of the most durable materials and have strong grips on their soles which will prevent some embarassing falls this upcoming winter!

I remember I had cougar boots many years ago and I would spend hours playing in the snow, specially on snow days! Good times!

Matchstick was nice enough to send me an awesome cougar boot kit! I received rain boots  (I adore rain boots) and actual boots for the winter. I chose the Regal rain boots and the Ravishing boots. In addition, I got sent a SUPER DUPER BIG mug and hot cocoa with a  cougar sweater to keep me warm this winter!

Finally on a rainy day, I had the chance to wear my regal cougar boots, I must say , they felt much warmer than my other rain boots due to their polar fleece lining and they felt really comfortable. Plus, I love the fact that they look so much like the  over priced Michael Kors rain boots but for a fraction of the price, plus I am sure they provide more warmth since they are rated 0°C to -24°C, priced at $75 CDN.

as for the winter boots, it hasn't gotten that cold yet but there are the few odd days when you feel that winter is really on its' way and your toes need much more than your usual fall footwear. I wore these a few times and felt super comfy and warm!! These are raed -10°C to -30°C with an exterior made of suede and nylon and an interior made of polar plush lining. They are priced at $175 CDN and I must admit, that is extremely affordable for winter boots.
 Stay Glam,

Naz

IMATS LA- Breakdown Day 1

After months of anticipation and list making ... The IMATS LA came ( and went at the blink of an eye). I must say , It was like nothing I had ever imagined! The venue was the biggest of the show I had ever attended (Toronto Imats and the makeup show NYC) and the attendance was higher than ever!

I must say , I did make up a list of brands and products I was interested in that I stored in my trusty iPhone but that quickly went out the window as I walked in the exhibition hall.  I was lucky enough to have my wonderful companion with me, sparkled beauty, through out the whole trip. As I mentioned before, she got in on  the details and pushed me to go for it, and I am so thankful she did!! I had the best time at this show, 1) because I wasn't alone ( as I was for the Toronto Imats) and 2) I was with someone who shared the same passion as me ( unlike during the makeup show in nyc).

Dear future makeup show attendees, my number one advice to you .... Go with someone who shares the same love for makeup as you!! It makes the experience SO much better!!

Day 1 :

We got to the Pasadena Convention Center around 9:30 am , we were overwhelmed by the number of people waiting in line ... The line went all the way around the enterance hall! We were fortunate enough to have press passes and not have to wait the 454687 hours long line... Thank you Sara!!

First order of business, Make Up For Ever, The line was going around the booth! We were not discouraged! Sparkled Beauty was smart enough to research what she wanted and make a list...something I didn't do with this particular brand and I should have!!  She waited in line as I went to the front and swatched ...came back with a few things on my list... as the line progressed...more items were being added to my list! Also, While in line, I got to meet Makeupmel, Vee Glamour and DollyBlush! I have been watching these girls since I started Youtube, So Excited!!

* A seperate haul post will be done with everything I got!!*

Finally after 3 hrs of waiting time in MUFE, we were FREE with our goodies!!  Next place on our list was the Purely Cosmetics  booth to get the famous Diamond finish powder, I also got 3 pigments from them. I cannot wait to use them, they looks goregous! I think it's safe to say we did most of our shopping on Day and left Sunday for classes and any booths we may have missed!

I am happy because I got to complete my kit  and get everything I needed at a great price!

At the end of the day, we went to a really cute restaurant by the name of Daisy Mint in Pasadena. Although I was practically about to faint from hunger and pain in my feet from wearing heels all day, I tolerated the wait and finally got to ordering... ONE BIG MISTAKE ... I ordered an appetizer and a main meal ... completely forgot about US portions ... I literally got full with my appetizer and didn't even touch the main meal until the next day at lunch ...
Stay tuned for Day 2 :)

p.s: Sorry if I couldn't post more pics...as you all know... my pictures are stuck on an unrecognized SD card...the chances of their recover is extremly low.... fingers crossed though ... If I get them back, I will definitely post up more pics!  These are the pics I had put up on facebook ... at least  I have some ..

* Love this look!
